FIFA World Cup 2022

Final of the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 Qatar Schedule: Dates and Times

The World Cup in Qatar is already underway. The 32 teams are divided into their eight groups and, waiting for FIFA to offer the details about the schedule and the final calendar, we already know what day each team will play and what possible crosses this World Cup will bring.

The group stage will start on November 21 at 11.00 Spanish time with the opening match that Qatar will not finally play against Ecuador. The World Cup will be opened by Senegal and the Netherlands and will be played until December 2, with four daily matches. The knockout stages will be played immediately after, from December 3 to 6. Yes, there will be rest days until the start of the quarterfinals, which will be played on December 9 and 10. The two semi-finals will take place on December 13 and 14 and the World Cup will culminate with the meeting for the third and fourth place on December 17 and the grand final on December 18.

Qatar World Cup Schedule

The four daily matches of the group stage already have their schedule defined and will be played, in Spanish peninsular time, at 11.00, 14.00, 17.00, and 20.00. Except for the matches on the last day of each group, which will be played in pairs, at 16.00 and 20.00.

The qualifiers, from the knockout stages, will also be played in that double schedule of 16.00 and 20.00, Spanish peninsular time, at the rate of two matches per day. The two semi-finals will be played, on successive days, at 20.00 and both the third and fourth place and the final will be played at 16.00 Spanish peninsular time.

64 matches in less than a month will face the 32 best teams in the world in the first World Cup in the Middle East

The participating countries have already set their way to the title at the World Cup in Qatar, which will be held from November 21 to December 18. Of the previous world champions, only Italy will be missing, eliminated in the playoff by North Macedonia. Of the favorites, the worst luck has been Brazil which will face Serbia, Switzerland and Cameroon in the first phase.

The last to get the ticket to Qatar have been Australia, Wales and Costa Rica, which had to go through the repechage. Australia first beat the United Arab Emirates and then beat Peru on penalties. Bale led Wales to the World Cup after leaving Ukraine on the road. And finally, Costa Rica beat New Zealand and will be the last member of the group in which Spain has been framed.

The Spanish team, which entered the draw in pot 1, so it avoided some of the favorites, will find itself in the group stage with Germany, Japan and Costa Rica, which beat New Zealand in the playoffs. Their first match will be against Costa Rica on November 23; on 27 November it will be Germany’s turn; and will close the group stage on December 1 against Japan. Luis Enrique’s players are presented to the appointment after having won six of the eight matches of their qualifying group, where the threat of falling in the playoff was present until the last day. There they won with a goal from Morata to Sweden (1-0), which finished second. Despite the difficulties, there is a certain atmosphere of optimism after the good role in the last European Championship, in which Spain reached the semifinals, where it was eliminated by Italy, which ended up winning the tournament.

France, the last champions, will play Australia, Denmark and Tunisia. The team led by Didier Deschamps has the challenge of improving the role of the last three winners of the tournament, Germany, Spain and Italy, who were eliminated in the group stage of the next World Cup.

The focus will also be on Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo. Both, who will be present except for injury, will enter the group of players who have been in five World Cups, something that only Lothar Matthäus (Germany), Rafa Márquez (Mexico), Antonio Carbajal (Mexico) and Gianluigi Buffon (Italy) have achieved.

In this table you can check all the matches of the first phase of the tournament.

The final phase:

The top 16 teams from the first phase will qualify for the knockout rounds. In the eighth, the first two of each group will face each other between December 3 and 6. On December 18 at four o’clock in the afternoon, peninsular time in Spain, the two best will play the final.

A venue with controversy

This World Cup has been involved in controversy, from the choice of the venue to the problems in the construction of the stadiums and the doubts about respect for human rights, especially those of LGBT people and women. In addition, it is the first World Cup to be played in the Middle East and in autumn due to the weather conditions of the region. This fact will modify the calendar of the main European leagues, which will stop during the celebration of the tournament.

Six cities will host the matches. In them will be the eight stadiums, all practically new and concentrated in just 370 square kilometers, figures much lower than the previous World Cup in Russia in 2018. The opening match will be played between Qatar and Ecuador at the Al Bayt stadium in Jor while the final will be at the Lusail National Stadium, with a capacity of more than 94,000 spectators.

Qatar 2022 World Cup: how much money does the champion, runner-up and qualifiers take?

It is the prize that will be bagged by the champion of the Qatar event. The runner-up will take a total of 27.27 million euros.

The team that conquers the World Cup in Qatar will pocket a figure that barely exceeds 38 million euros, as reported by FIFA on Friday after the draw for the group stage, held at the Exhibition and Congress Center in Doha.

This was announced by FIFA, which has saved the best of its prizes (38.03 million) for that team that triumphs on December 18, 2022, the date set for the final of the World Championship. The runner-up of the tournament will take a total of 27.27 million euros.

There will also be a difference between the semi-finalists based on their fight for third place. In this case, the country that climbs the podium will enter an amount of 24.45 million euros, while the fourth classified will have to ‘settle’ with 22.64 million.

In addition, the rest of the teams will also enter an economic incentive in relation to their classification in the appointment in three brackets. In this way, from the 5th to the 8th classified will take 15.40 million each Federation; while from the 9th to the 16th will be 11.7 million euros.

Finally, from 17th to 32nd, regardless of whether or not they exceed the group stage, all national teams participating in the World Cup in Qatar will enter an amount of 8 million euros. Figures regardless of what each Federation agrees with its templates by objectives or awards.

How much money does the World Cup winner take?

The team that manages to win the Qatar 2022 World Cup will pocket a total of 42 million dollars (38 million euros).

Qatar 2022 World Cup tickets: where to buy them and authorized websites

The most common route is through FIFA, which has already placed 800,000 seats and is entering Phase 2. There is also another route, with MATCH Hospitality packages.

The Spanish National Team already knows the path it will have to follow in the Qatar 2022 World Cup, which will take place between November 21 and December 18 this year. Spain has been drawn into Group E, paired with Germany, Japan and the winner of the playoff between New Zealand and Costa Rica. Now begins the battle to get tickets for the World Cup, for which there are two ways.

The most common and the one that most fans will resort to is through FIFA, the organizing entity and, therefore, the one that manages the sale of tickets for the World Cup. Phase 1 of the process has already been completed, with more than 800,000 tickets already in place, and since April 5, Phase 2 began for those who wish to apply for tickets, of different types:

qatar 2022 world cup

Single tickets:

these are seats for a specific match, available in four price categories.

Supporter tickets:

these are group stage tickets for fans of a specific national team, available in three price categories.

Conditional Supporter Tickets:

for supporters who wish to reserve a seat for one of their national team’s possible matches in the knockout rounds, available in three price categories.

Four-stadium pass: tickets for fans wishing to experience the unique atmosphere of four different stadiums on consecutive days.

Accessibility tickets:

these are part of any of the above ticket products and provide people with disabilities and reduced mobility access to adapted facilities and venues covering a wide range of requirements.

Phase 2 will run until April 28, 2022, at 11:00 CET. During this sales period, the date on which applications are submitted is irrelevant – it does not matter whether they are submitted on the first or last day – as all tickets will be allocated after the end of the application phase. In the event that demand exceeds the available quota for the domestic or international market, tickets will be allocated by lottery. All applicants will receive a communication no earlier than May 31, 2022, informing them whether their application has been partially or fully accepted or rejected, and providing instructions to be followed and the deadline for payment of the allocated tickets.

MATCH Hospitality, the other way

This is how the FIFA process is going at the moment; the other way is to purchase tickets through hospitality packages, which are sold by MATCH Hospitality, the only company that holds the exclusive worldwide rights to sell these packages for Qatar 2022.

“Thanks to the Team Specific Series, fans will be able to purchase tickets for all three group stage matches and their team’s hypothetical round of 16 and quarter-final matches. Depending on their interests, there is also the Single Match Package to attend just one of those five matches,” the company says.

In the case of the Spanish national team, this hospitality package would allow fans to enjoy La Roja’s matches at Al Zumama Stadium, Al Bait Stadium, Khalifa International Stadium, and Education City Stadium Al Yanub Stadium, depending on where they finish the group stage. For those traveling to Qatar who prefers the experience of watching all matches played in the same stadium, MATCH Hospitality also offers that possibility through the Venue Series. These exclusive packages are available to enjoy all matches played at a particular venue.
